Here's a British film that's street-wise, gritty, & honest enough to have
embarassing moments that just hang out. Mel Raido plays a guy who
recognizes that he has screwed up, and is starting to screw up again.
His intensions are well meant, but he wonders how to hold his own on
the mean street, as a man? Hard questions, and harder solutions are
why I think this movie's so cool.
Colin Salmon is such an over-the-top role model that the screen didn't
seem big enough to fit him. Although, he's so impressive to watch,
I can't say that I minded. The characters are up against: betrayal, loyalty,
sacrifice, guilt & some make the better choice from the leftovers.
If you liked Fight Club, or Green Street Hooligans, you might like this
one too.

Agreed. It was a real treat to watch. Good acting, good story. I wasn't familiar with the actors and I prefer to watch "unknowns" or "lesser-knowns." It helps make a story more believable not to see Pitt or Reaves in a monthly Hollywood movie (jk) however good they may be at their craft.
Thanks to Lina for the heads-up on Green Street Hooligans, another gem. Elijah Wood in a post-Rings role. Tried to watch GSH2, different cast I believe, but the video crapped out after a short time and I had to abort. But it's on my "to see" list.
